Laser skin resurfacing is a proven way to rejuvenate the skin, helping to reduce wrinkles, sun damage, acne scars, and other blemishes as well as tighten skin and balance tone. Our CO2 laser system is a popular choice for those looking to refresh and rejuvenate tired and ageing skin and target specific skin concerns with minimal discomfort and downtime.

What is CO2 laser skin resurfacing?

The CO2 laser is a non-fractional ablative laser that rejuvenates the skin. Laser resurfacing is a facial laser treatment performed under anaesthetic to reduce facial wrinkles caused by ageing and skin irregularities such as blemishes or acne scars. It is an incredibly advanced treatment for reversing the signs of ageing on the skin envelope.

How does it work?

The technique directs short, concentrated pulsating beams of light at the skin, precisely puncturing the skin in a grid formation. The skin then undergoes a healing process to regenerate new and healthy skin.

Where can this treatment be used?

This is a skin treatment and can be used on any part of the body.

What skin concerns can be treated?

  • Rejuvenation and tightening of the facial neck and décolletage
  • Rejuvenation of other parts of the skin e.g. hands, elbow, abdomen
  • Rejuvenation for vulvar area including tightening
  • Rejuvenation and tightening of the vaginal lining (to improve sex life and urinary system)
  • Improve skin pigmentation and skin tone
  • Improve wrinkles and irregularities
  • Removal of benign moles
  • Effective treatment of warts
  • Effective treatment of stretch marks

Why should I have laser skin resurfacing instead of a non-laser treatment?

Some non-laser aesthetic treatments are designed to replace volume or help temporarily soften the wrinkles on the upper part of the face. Laser skin resurfacing can permanently reduce wrinkles, sun damage, acne scarring and other skin irregularities on the face. In addition, it can also tighten and lift the face almost instantly, helping to improve contours on the face.

Unlike other non-laser based aesthetic treatments, once you complete your course of treatments it is unlikely you will ever need to have laser skin resurfacing again, provided you take good care of your new skin. Our expert team will be able to advise you on the best care for your skin following your laser skin resurfacing.

Am I suitable for laser skin resurfacing?

Laser skin resurfacing should be considered if your skin is sun damaged, presents with a lot of static wrinkles (wrinkles that are visible when the face isn’t in motion), has unwanted pigmentation or acne scars. Patients that undergo laser skin resurfacing to help turn back the clock on ageing emerge with fresher and younger looking skin.

What results can I expect to see?

After having a course of laser skin resurfacing you would expect to see fresher skin with an improvement in your static wrinkles (wrinkles that are present when the face isn’t in motion), pigmentation and irregularities, leaving you with clearer skin.

You should also expect your skin to look much tighter with the laxity improved, resulting in younger looking skin. On average, patients report that they feel they look 5-8 years younger having had laser skin resurfacing.
